As the Balenciaga mania spreads throughout Paris and the rest of the world, Kim Kardashian released a mysterious Instagram Story that has us believing her fashionable kid may be following in her footsteps sooner than we had originally thought.
Following her Wednesday runway appearance for the design house, Kardashian shared a photo of a black sweatshirt with the words “NORTH BALENCIAGA” printed in white on the front.
North West, age nine, and her grandma Kris Jenner synchronized Balenciaga couture ensembles while sitting first row at the event this week. North looked cool in a faded black long-sleeved graphic T-shirt, dark ripped jeans with white and red stripes on the side, and massive black-and-silver platform shoes from the Balenciaga x Crocs collaboration. The momager wore a silky black cape dress with a mock turtleneck and matching Balenciaga sunglasses. She accessorized with a pair of black Balenciaga sunglasses and two beaded necklaces.
She had several looks this week in addition to that. The past several days, North has been setting the pace for Paris Fashion Week street style. She honored her late father Kanye West on Tuesday by walking the streets in an enormous brilliant blue varsity jacket that she had taken from the Pastelle archives, a now-gone 2000s streetwear brand that the rapper wore to the 2008 American Music Awards. She matched the colors of blue to the statement item and accessorized with clunky Crocs from Balenciaga, black pants, and a tiny purse.
Later on in the day, North switched out her unique outerwear for a slouchy, bejeweled black denim jacket. A shirt from Balenciaga with embellishments and black sunglasses were the finishing touches to her look.
The next day, North wore the same outfit as her famous mother while sitting front row at the Jean Paul Gaultier show—she was already obtaining better runway show seats than the rest of us. North wore a pinstriped vest over a white collared button-up, a matching pinstriped skirt and beret, a black tie, and a hat, giving French-girl chic a punk twist. The SKIMS billionaire opted for a body-hugging pinstriped dress with nude-colored breast panels. She finished the ensemble with black oval eyeglasses and knee-high combat boots. Additionally, she and Kardashian sported matching silver nose chains.
Kardashian has previously praised her oldest daughter’s flair for personal style and love of cosmetics. Even more so, she acknowledged in an interview that North herself selected her siblings’ clothing for a magazine picture session after thinking their predetermined appearances were too uninteresting.
North gained notoriety for her advice to photographers during this week’s Jean Paul Gaultier couture show. Apparently, North and her mother were painting a picture that was too appealing, especially because Anna Wintour was on the Kardashians’ opposing side. North supposedly reached her breaking point when she put up a genuine “STOP” sign to tell photographers to stop shooting pictures of her.
North is seen in the video carrying the sign, and Kardashian said on Twitter, “For anybody who knows North, understands how funny she thinks this video! I assume North was tired of people snapping photographs of her, so she scrawled STOP on her invitation and held it up to tell everyone to stop and concentrate on the event.
On this trip, North has reportedly been interrogating the paparazzi a lot, asking one group of photographers, “Why do you have to wait for us all the time?” after they approached her and Kardashian outside a restaurant.
