A long-time Birkenstock fan, Holmes appears to have invested in a pair of the brand’s trending Boston clogs, which are fast replacing Ugg slippers as the fashion girl’s comfort shoe of choice. Everyone from Sienna Miller to Kristen Stewart to Kendall Jenner has been spied wearing the no-frills flat, so it was inevitable that Katie should eventually swap her Arizona sandals for a pair of her own as the temperature drops.
The actor paired hers with a flannel shirt, another low-key item that is predicted to become huge in 2023, thanks in large part to Kate Moss’s appearance on Matthieu Blazy’s spring runway at Bottega. She wore it with a comfortable (and reasonably priced) waffle effect loungewear set by Aerie in an oatmeal color.
Earlier this month the Dawson Creek actress embraced the naked dress to the CFDA fashion awards. She selected an eye-catching evening outfit designed by Simkhai that totally embraced glamor and glamour. The dress’ long, tank-like shape and swishy crystal fringe at the hemline gave off the vibe of a flapper dress from the 1920s, but its scoop neckline and all-over cage finish that slightly revealed skin below made it seem distinctly modern. Even Holmes’ slicked-back hair and vampy dark red lip contributed to the vintage flapper vibe.
