The Guest in Residence debut of Gigi Hadid’s knitwear line included more partywear than pullovers. The model squad showed up to support the nascent cashmere guru at her L’Avenue event at Saks, New York, where the discussion focused on vibrant color schemes and “varsity funk” capsules. Gigi Hadid also showcased a distinctive layering technique.

As a Gen-Z businesswoman, Hadid was fully in character. The multi-hyphenate in her twenties, who created her preppy-cool brand while expecting a child and settling into life at her family’s farm in Pennsylvania stepped out in New York City last night wearing a form-fitting champagne corset layered over a barbie pink button-down, which was left unbuttoned.

With a pair of ivory straight-leg pants with raw hems, she matched the statement piece. She coordinated the rest of her ensemble, down to her pointed-toe shoes and tiny leather Miu Miu purse, with her pink top. She accessorized with a couple gold ear cuffs and many gold necklaces.

Bella Hadid, the family’s strategic dresser arrived hand in hand with her boyfriend, Marc Kalman, in coordinating all-black outfits. The dedicated vintage enthusiast is going through a Sandy from Grease period, complete with skin-tight black pedal-pushers, adorable cardigan sweaters, and pigtails to accentuate the look.

She accessorized with black shades, a silver medallion choker necklace, and a black purse with silver embellishments. Kalman wore a black knit sweater over a white tank top, black baggy trousers, and a pair of black Doc Martens.

With a cropped pinstriped blue button-down from Miu Miu and a pair of wide-leg navy blue pants, Emily Ratajkowski went for a more edgy look. Ratajkowski’s Miu Miu purse was black, but she matched it with brown shoes to complete the ensemble.

In addition, Precious Lee added her own unique spin to tailoring with a PVC mac and keyhole cardigan. The tempo? Powerful women are proud of one of their own who is succeeding off the runway.

Early in August, Gigi shared a behind-the-scenes peek at the creation of the brand while announcing the impending debut of Guest in Residence.
