The haute couture fashion week has begun. Both on and off the catwalk, expect to see dramatic moments, from expertly crafted dresses to innovative, cutting-edge designs in the wackiest of materials. On the first day, Emma Watson already gave high fashion a streetwear edge.
The 32-year-old actor opted for a striking costume that was the ideal blend of luxury and streetwear fashion to attend the Schiaparelli autumn/winter 2022 couture presentation. The highlight piece was a black jacket from Schiaparelli’s spring/summer 2022 couture collection that was instantly recognizable thanks to its power shoulders and imposing lapels. Watson wore a spotless white collared shirt, grey skinny trousers, and a thick pair of black leather Dr Martens Chelsea boots to counteract the dramatic look.
Another image showed her seated in the first row of the performance alongside singer Rina Sawayama, actor Hunter Schafer, and her friend, journalist Derek Blasberg (who seemed to be holding her purse). She and Blasberg left the Ritz hotel in Paris together for the event, stopping to catch up with other friends and famous people along route.
Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gautier, and Balenciaga all have booked shows for their new collections as part of the Paris Haute Couture Week, which began this Sunday and runs through Thursday.
