Right now, the weather in New York City is almost ideal. Given the chilly weather, coats are in fashion demand since layering is increasingly essential for staying warm. And on October 12, Anne Hathaway was photographed wearing a huge, boxy jacket, one of the season’s must-have looks. She also managed to give the angular shoulder pads from the 1980s a startling mod vibe.
With her oversize silhouette, Hathaway is ahead of the curve as the boxy blazer was a major trend on the autumn/winter 2022 runways, as seen at Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Michael Kors. She wore a more elegant white short dress with her roomy jacket, which had a graphic checkerboard pattern to balance off the pattern’s strong presence. Hathaway’s accessories made it feel much groovier and of the ’60s rather than leaning into a ’80s mentality. She wore the knee-high boots, huge bug-eye sunglasses, and leather clutch that were popular during the time.
In a denim-on-denim outfit later in the day, Hathaway was seen leaving the studios for The View. Her relaxed wide-leg trousers and denim blazer were both pieces from the Nili Lotan resort 2023 collection. She accessorized the denim suit with a multicolored beaded crop top and shiny violet Gianvito Rossi heels for a splash of color. She wore the same Victoria Beckham black clutch from her previous outing.
The actress then changed once more, forgoing her jackets in favor of a bright cocktail dress. She was wearing a neon yellow midi dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline and neon yellow fabric ruffles hanging from her shoulders. Hathaway chose translucent PVC heels with dazzling silver toes for her footwear.
Finally, Hathaway concluded her night by walking the red carpet at a New York Film Festival ceremony of her most recent movie, Armageddon Time. She chose a dress directly out of the fall 2022 couture collection of Valentino for the spectacular occasion, going for a glitzier look. The long, silvery gown had shimmering sequin and pearl details all over, and it came with a matching pair of pointed boots. She accessorized with a metallic manicure, diamond rings, and silver drop earrings.
Following a string of outstanding outfits from the celebrity this year, Hathaway debuted another bold look. She has been experimenting with hot-pink sequins from Valentino, glittering Gucci tiny skirts, and brown leather trench coats while working with stylist Erin Walsh.
