Penélope Cruz is a regular attendee of the Met Gala, known for her signature Old Hollywood glamour. For this year, she wore a Chanel Haute Couture bustier evening gown, complete with a sweeping train in silk tulle and silk taffeta, which took over 500 hours to create.
Cruz created an elegant dress inspired by “The Garden of Time” dress code, featured eight types of French floral lace in black and silver, flower-shaped bejewelled buttons, and a 1950s silhouette of iconic Chanel dresses. The design was inspired by the black and grey combination of laces used in Virginie Viard’s spring/summer 2020 couture collection.
To complement the look, Cruz adorned Chanel’s High Jewellery collection, including a white gold, diamond, and cultured pearl Tweed Pastel necklace and bracelet, and two white gold and diamond rings.

She wore an angelic hooded sheer gown in a mint-green hue from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 1988 couture collection, honoring the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
