Toke Makinwa wore a standout 1995 cyber dot dress from Jean Paul Gaultier this week and its giving fashion orgasm!! There is a lot going on with the trippy and vibrant outfit, but it turns out that Toke isn’t the first fashionista to wear a variation of the dress – there’s Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Doja cat and a host of others.
Let’s begin with the dress itself before delving into the Kar-Jenner relationship with Jean Paul Gaultier. The vivid, hooded dress was dotted all over. The majority of the dress was covered in spots of various colors that gave the appearance of a bikini top.
However, if you look a little closer, you’ll see that Makinwa’s custom Jean Paul Gaultier gown is actually just one outfit paired with a matchng hood. The mini, tight dress was accessorized by Toke with Loewe Paula’s Ibiza sunglasses and Versace block platform heels.
For makeup, opted for a bronze look and a bright red look. her hair was pulled into the hood leaving only her sleeked baby curls.
Kendall Jenner wore her version for the opening of the Jean Paaaul Gaultier on FWRD. Kendall was appointd bew creative director in late 2021. Hers was an off shoulder figure hugging lon-sleeved dress with the designers well known op art pattern that emphasized her curvrs with heat map coloring and added adornment for additional pop.
Doja Cat and Chlöe Bailey joined Kendall in donning the designer’s vibrant prints at the launch party for Kendall’s FWRD line, which was attended by a number of high-profile celebrities. Doja went with a two-piece outfit, while Chlöe picked out a vivid orange bodysuit.
As reported by W, devotees of the Kardashian-Jenner style may recognize Kendall’s custom-made clothing. Kim previously wore a JPG dress in February 2020. She decided on boots and sunglasses for her personal style. Kim previously shared a glance at the back of the dress on Instagram, giving the impression that it was a thong.
