Michelle Obama Continues To Be One Of The Most Fashionable First Ladies Ever, Even Outside Of The White House

As First Lady, Michelle Obama rapidly earned a reputation for having exceptional taste and supporting up-and-coming designers. Obama wore a variety of costumes over her eight years in the White House, joining Jackie O and other elegant first women in the fashion canon. Now, even though she has left Pennsylvania Avenue, Obama has shown that her ensembles weren’t a one-time fluke. She is still a fashion icon. Obama is presently on tour to promote her latest book, The Light We Carry. As a result, we are treated to yet another parade of looks from the former First Lady, and as usual, she is killing it.

Obama visited Today earlier this week to meet Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager as part of her press tour. Obama made a statement during that outing by donning a highlighter-yellow ensemble by Proenza Schouler, a label she regularly wore while in the White House. The ensemble included high-waisted pants with a very exaggerated, flowing bootcut and a matching blazer embellished with silver buttons. It was from the brand’s spring/summer 2023 collection. Obama accessorized with gold hoops earrings, Anny Nord shoes, and pulled her hair back.

When it came time to make an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Obama chose to stick with her signature daring style and wore a look from the Michael Kors Collection spring/summer 2023 runway. The ensemble, which featured a gold, sparkly turtleneck and tan, oversized trousers, was ideal for welcoming the holiday season.

The moment Obama stepped the stage in Washington, DC, on Tuesday night to begin her official tour with a conversation chaired by Ellen DeGeneres, she gave off her best look and counting. Ganni’s resort 2023 collection provided Obama with a Canadian tuxedo for that occasion. The outfit included a blazer with buttons that fastened at the waist as well as wide-leg denim cargo trousers with pockets on each leg. Following that, Obama and her stylist Meredith Koop finished the ensemble with a pair of red Stuart Weitzman shoes and silver hoops. You’ve got to love her knotless bohemian braids 😍. During her conversation with DeGeneres, Obama discussed her decision to wear her hair down naturally.

She remembered saying to herself, “Let me keep my hair straight.” “Let’s pass health bill.” The former First Lady felt that natural hair would generate a complete ruckus and distract from getting actual job done because people “tripped out when Barack wore a tan suit,” she recalled. Obama, however, is now free to style her hair whatever she pleases, explaining her appearance on Tuesday night.

This is not Obama’s first Canadian tuxedo to emerge from his eclectic wardrobe. She donned the contemporary twist on the workaday look by South Korean designer Rejina Pyo in the spring, which included a dramatic pointed collar and prominent belt. In a fitted take on Americana chic, she supported minimalist Swiss workwear favorite Akris in 2018. The world of subdued tailoring is not for Michelle. Instead, embroidered Givenchy tuxedos and striped pieces with pyjama-like patterns from Roksanda compete for her attention as Koop continues suggesting unique clothing that reveals the lady underneath the formidable image.

Michelle wore crisp black separates straight off Matthieu Blazy’s spring/summer 2023 Bottega Veneta catwalk when she went out over the weekend, following her double denim look from Scandi favorite Ganni.

The designer posted a photo of Mrs. Obama wearing look 48 from his second collection for the Italian company along with the caption, “What an immense honour,” on Instagram. The streamlined shirt’s funnel neckline gave it the polish of a more formal blazer. Michelle’s outfit is from the same collection as Kate Moss’s, which saw the model making the once-boring flannel shirt seem quite alluring on the catwalk.
