You’d have to be living under a rock to have missed the highly publicized back and forth between multi-hyphenate Ye (previously known as Kanye West) and American retailer Gap in recent days, which led to the end of their collaboration earlier this week. Despite internal conflicts, the brand’s partnership with Balenciaga, known as Yeezy Gap, Engineered by Balenciaga, is launching a unique pair of sunglasses that have already been seen all over the internet.

The YR 3022 YZY GAP SHDZ sunglasses are reflective, visor-shaped, and wrap around the face. The nose bridge is cushioned by a foam pad. A strap that can be adjusted at the rear completes the design and heightens its futuristic feel. The sunglasses were first seen on Ye when he made a surprise appearance in Lil Durk’s Miami-set 2022 Rolling Loud song. Since then, they have been seen on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Steve Lacy, and Lisa Rinna from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The statement eyewear is also the subject of its own Instagram account (@YzyShdz).

The online hype surrounding the shield-shaped sunglasses, whose new ad was shot by the great Nick Knight, is at an all-time high even though their official release date has not yet been established. The best course of action is to continuously refreshing your social media channels until the announcement.
