This time around, Kim Kardashian partnered with Swarovski for a Skims collaboration, featuring crystal-dripping body jewelry and crystal-dripping bodysuits. This is the first time the Austrian crystal company worked together with another brand to make apparel for its stores.
According to Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Global Creative Director of Swarovski Group she was inspired by Millenia jewellery “Taylor Swift necklace,” for Skims collaboration to create the plethora of body jewellery. She incorporated iconic elements from both brands, focusing on the brand’s aesthetic and inclusivity for all body types. She tells Vogue her favorite pieces from the collection which include the one-size-fits-all body jewellery, designed with extensions, which stands out for its versatility and one-size-fits-all design.
The renowned jewelry designer, has partnered with Swarovski to create a modern dimension to crystals for brands like Amina Muaddi, Nike, Adidas, etc. However, the collaboration which Skims (valued at 4 billion) is part of Swarovski’s repositioning as a player in the contemporary luxury lifestyle. And no doubt, that Skims shares Swarovski’s values of empowerment and self-expression.
