Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were without a doubt the best-dressed pair at the Golden Globes, despite their decision to forego the red carpet. Rocky and Rihanna chose to wear all-black outfits while seated next to one other at their table. Rihanna was nominated for Best Original Song for her “Lift Me Up” from the film Black Panther.
The pair quietly opted out of the red carpet and entered The Beverly Hilton right away to begin the ceremony. While Jennifer Coolidge, the star of The White Lotus, was in the middle of giving an award, keen-eyed admirers posted video of the two making their grand entrance on social media.
Naturally, Rihanna, a first-time Golden Globe contender, grabbed attention in a stunning ensemble that included a bespoke Schiaparelli gown. A voluminous, cloud-like stole that dreamily framed her figure was attached to the inky black velvet dress. She accessorized with Cartier jewelry and a velvet purse by Roger Vivier while wearing her hair up in a chic bun with gel. Rocky, meanwhile, looked dapper in a traditional tuxedo by Bottega Veneta.

Last month, Rihanna acknowledged her first Golden Globe nomination on Twitter, tweeting, “God be showin out! 🙏🏿❤️ @goldenglobes.”
The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Black Panther director Ryan Coogler on recruiting Rihanna to provide new music for the sequel to the Marvel film series. He apparently intended the swan song to represent parenting as well as the memories of the film’s actor, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020.
