Congratulations are in order for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. The couple dropped a major surprise announcement yesterday – taking to their social media handles to inform fans that they had welcomed their first baby through surrogacy.
“We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family,” they each wrote on Instagram tagging each other.
According to the sources of TMZ, Priyanka and Nick’s baby was born on Saturday in a Southern California hospital via surrogacy. Chopra has been very spoken of her desire to have children in the past: “They’re a big part of our desire for the future,” the actor recently told Vanity Fair. “By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens.” She also noted that she and Jonas were ready for the change of pace that comes with a newborn: “We’re both okay with that,” she said.
Their baby arrived this January, just about three years after the couple’s extravagant wedding at Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India.
The couple first met in 2017 and took their romance public in 2018. They were engaged after just four months of dating.
Priyank recently starred in Matrix: The Resurrections, where she played the character of Sati. She will next be seen in the web series called Citadel, directed by the Russo Brothers.
