As predicted, Vintage is having a fashion moment on the red carpets in 2023. Paris Jackson is the latest Hollywood star to join the vintage trend with a Gucci gown that was in fact worn by Keira Knightley to the London premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean back in 2006.
Straight from Frida Giannini’s Gucci era (2006 A/W collection archive) the stunning gown featured a plunging neckline, corseted leather belt with metal embellishments, and wrap design on the skirt that leads to a thigh-high slit. Paris paired the look with a with gold bangles and a matching pair of bronze platform sandals.
There will probably be more vintage gear in the upcoming days because of the MET Gala. According to a statement from the museum, the spring 2023 exhibition’s topic will be “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” and will feature a number of vintage items from one of the brands he created for, like Chloé, Chanel, Fendi, Jean Patou, or even something from the period he worked under Pierre Balmain.
A-lister like Zendaya and Jennifer Aniston are already championing the vintage trend. With Zendaya rocking a spring 2002 Versace couture gown at the NAACP Image Awards and the latter turning head with her latest appearance on Jimmy Fallon wearing vintage Gucci.
