On Saturday night, Keke Palmer went on a date with the Knowles-Lawson clan and perused the Saint Laurent archives. Palmer went to the Wearable Art Gala, which was co-founded by Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson and her second husband Richard Lawson, at the WACO Theater Center in Santa Monica. Palmer wore a vintage outfit in keeping with the theme of this year, which was the art and clothing of the Harlem Renaissance.

The long streams of black fabric draping around her body, again terminating in a broad hem of feathers, held the strapless black dress to her torso and secured it to it with a bandeau of black feathers at the top. Her thigh and her black kitten heel shoes were visible due to the tall split in her skirt. Black opera gloves and Cartier jewelry, including chandelier earrings and a broad diamond bracelet worn over one glove, completed the ensemble. Palmer sported a short haircut with curly hair, a dark red lip, and shimmering black eye makeup.

Styled by Shiona Turini, Keke’s caption read: “Last night I hosted the Wearable Art Gala!” she wrote. “It was a night to remember. Most events involving so many stars can be quite stuffy. This, was not, it was so fun and soulful and for a good cause.”

Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z, as well as Tyler Perry, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Vivica A. Fox, Lela Rochon, Marsai Martin, Lori Harvey, and Magic and Cookie Johnson, all made an appearance at the event.

A fine art auction was held during the event to generate money for the Center’s mentoring and creative activities for young people. Angela Bassett was also given a Film & TV Icon Award.
