During the premiere of her brand-new Broadway play, The Wanderers, Katie Holmes sported the perfect day-to-night ensemble. The actress got together with her co-stars last week to celebrate the project at New York City’s Laura Pels Theatre. While early performances of the show beginning on January 26 being seen by crowds, the formal premiere took place yesterday night, on February 16.
Holmes selected a few essentials from her vintage-inspired, basic wardrobe for the joyful occasion and matched them with one surprising item: a fringe leather skirt.
Layered over a plain white blouse, the outfit featured a long, textured beige blazer with short, cuffed sleeves and side pockets. She accompanied them by donning the amusing black leather fringe skirt, which had thick leather strands hanging loose at the bottom and was fastened together by teeny silver clasps. In addition to long gold earrings, a ring, and a pair of black heels, Holmes completed the look with jewelry by Misahara and Ritique. The actress went all out with her makeup for the occassion, choosing a glossy pink lip, rose eye shadow with shimmer, and bright pink blush.
The Wanderers follows two couples as they experience the highs and lows of married life with the ultimate goal of making the audience wonder if they really want what they believe they have always wanted, if happiness is something that can ever be attained, and if fulfillment is a societal construct.
