Kate Moss is going all out. On the 2nd of November, the legendary supermodel made a stunning red-carpet entrance while attending WSJ. Magazine’s 2022 Innovator Awards at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art. She wore a modernized version of the naked dress.
Moss wore a piece straight off the spring 2023 Saint Laurent runway and looked chic in a sheer, golden yellow floor-length gown. An abdominal cutout in the shape of a triangle and ruched fabric along the bustier could be seen on the dress’ top half. Moss covered her high-bun updo with the cloth, which was also delicately arranged into a hood.
The model chose thick black bangles, a pair of diamond statement earrings, a long chain necklace with an amber crystal pendant, and a silver chain-link arm cuff to up the ante with her accessories.
The naked dress has been a part of Kate Moss’s stylistic repertoire prior. She rocked a completely transparent metallic silver slipdress at a party in 1993, which helped bring the “naked dress” trend to the forefront of the decade’s design scene.
In an interview with British Vogue earlier this year, Moss discussed the unintended consequences of her fashion decision. “I did not know that this dress was see-through until the pictures came out the next day in the newspaper,” she said, per Yahoo! Life. “It was the flash that made it look naked ’cause actually the fabric when I was wearing it, when I went out I didn’t think it was that see-through. But, obviously, it was.”
