Jennifer Lopez’s one-of-a-kind holiday theme focused on her first Christmas as Mrs. Affleck.
The celebrity spoke candidly about the lavish party she and her husband threw at their home in Hollywood in the most recent issue of her newsletter, On The J.Lo. The Afflecks entertained a star-studded crowd at their elaborately decorated home over the weekend before Christmas, which the “Waiting For Tonight” singer themed around hummingbirds.
Before outlining the significance of her theme, the multi-hyphenate wrote “I like to create a theme for every holiday,” She continued by saying “I wrote a song called Hummingbird for my new album, This Is Me … Now. To me, hummingbirds are messengers of love. They’re very agile—can fly forward, backward, and up and down. They’re also the fastest bird but they always have time to stop, eat something sweet and smell the roses. I identify with them, but more than anything, whenever I see one, I feel like it’s a sign from God that everything is going to be OK.”
“So, I decided this year that the hummingbird would be a perfect theme,” she continued. “We have blended families, doubled the people, doubled the fun, doubled the love, doubled the presents and tripled the chaos!!”
The actress also gave a sneak preview of her festive-evening outfit, which included a breathtaking metallic gown by Gucci that was embellished with gold, silver, and green hummingbirds. The dress had long puffy sleeves with unique cuffs, a mock neck, and a tight waist. She wore her hair in a curled ponytail and accented the glitzy dress with chandelier earrings.
Writing, “I also picked hummingbird colors for my holiday party dress this year. It’s a Gucci dress that I’ve had in my closet which I bought a year ago and I’ve been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear. I thought it was perfect for our Hummingbird Christmas Party.”
