Thanks to her recent leading performances in Wednesday, X, and the Scream franchise—not to mention the fact that she’s a bright new fashion star, too—Jenna Ortega is Hollywood’s new It-girl. She proved that she’s eager to have fun with fashion and make a statement at the Golden Globes last week by walking the red carpet in an airy Gucci gown. At the menswear show for Saint Laurent’s autumn/winter 2023 on Tuesday in Paris, she made her most recent fashion statement. In a highly elegant outfit, Ortega stood in front of a huge gold “YSL” logo just before watching the new collection from the front row.
Ortega wore a piece from Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2023 collection that included a halter top with an eye-catching backless reveal. Platform sandals, jewelry from the brand, and cuffs were the only accessories she added to her outfit.
The hooded gown has been making a comeback in floor-length, silky fabrics for a few seasons now, thanks to Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello. His creations pay homage to the draped, hooded capuche dresses that Yves Saint Laurent himself popularized in the middle of the 1980s – a decade that also saw designers like Azzedine Alaïa create the style, which was favored by stars like Grace Jones.
