For the My Policeman premiere in LA, Harry Styles, donned his Gucci ambassador cap, fresh off of his Greased Lightning makeover. For his turn in front of the cameras, the artist ditched his typical ’70s-inspired look and opted for simple, modernistic suiting. He opted for a finished with a round neck rather than a large collar. Flares replaced double-breasted tailoring, and slim-cut pants took the place of a jacket with a belt. Not the popstar Harry Styles, the actor Harry Styles was reporting for service.

Clearly, something other than police officers and patrolmen served as the suit’s primary source of inspiration. The streamlined two-piece is part of Alessandro Michele’s Twinsburg spring/summer 2023 collection for Gucci, which was inspired by his “two mothers,” Eralda and Giuliana. Two identical twins walked the Milan runway in Styles’s restrained two-piece as the creative director addressed the idea of identity. This dichotomy will likely have resonated with Harry, who has dual lives as one of the biggest singers in the world and a quiet 28-year-old attempting to maintain his normal life in secret.
