The Hadid sisters celebrated Bella’s 26th birthday over the weekend by going out. Gigi opted for a bolder appearance than the birthday girl, who wore all-black for the event. She made the unexpected choice of an early 2000s-inspired fall skirt.
The vintage floor-length maxi skirt in question was a Roberto Cavalli design made of denim and silk. Thanks in part to Britney Spears at the 2000 MTV VMAs, the somewhat bohemian item had a significant moment in the early 2000s. Hadid’s skirt had a current air thanks to its swishy silk hemline and partial bleaching, which gave it a fresh new look (not to mention more lightweight than a fully-covered denim style). Additionally, the way she wore it—teaming it with a polished leather jacket and a cropped polo—helped.
