For the Eternals world premiere Gemma Chan looked divine in Louis Vuitton feathers – but for the rest of the promo tour, Gemma has taken a different tack. For example her LA press she opted for an extravagant look – an ombré pink knitted dress with a wavy hemline.
Best described as a squiggle dress, it was created by a New York-based brand PH5 – launched in 2014 by Wei Lin, daughter of a large knitwear manufacturer in Dongguan, China, and Parsons-trained designer, Zoe Champion.
The label challenges the conventional vision of knitwear by marrying whimsical designs with architectural dimensions of knitting techniques. Using knit as the vehicle of innovation, every design is coded by computer engineers to avoid any waste and made from innovative fabrications – such as the world’s first hydraknit infused with hyaluronic acid to moisturise the body – ensuring that PH5’s light, breathable pieces always have a distinct point of difference.
Chan’s stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray styled the peppy form-fitting knit with Amina Muaddi mules (shop) . For her second press day, Gemma wore Casablanca brand, designed by French-Moroccan founder Charaf Tajer and shoes by Louis Vuitton.
Day 3 saw the Eternals star wearing a mesh sheer asymmetric dress by Dion Lee. With fresh make-up by Monika Blunder, Gemma completed her look with earrings from bar jewellery and Louboutin shoes.
