Recently, Emily Ratajkowski has had a retro phase. The author/model has been seen wearing a variety of vintage pieces, such as a Hermès Birkin carryall and a dress by John Galliano with a newspaper print from the Tom Ford era. Ratajkowski continued her quest this past week in Milan, this time choosing a pair of cropped Celine trousers with a golden chain design.
These aren’t from Phoebe Philo’s time at Celine, which some people do consider classic despite the fact that it was only four years ago. instead, the Michael Kors era. She accessorized the statement pants with a black polo-neck top that revealed a hint of midriff, strappy sandals, and a saddle bag by Christian Dior.
Every characteristic of a Ratajkowski style that makes headlines and is suitable for paparazzi is present in this ensemble. Her pants come from a less well-known but no less significant period of Celine’s history, from 1997 to 2003, when Kors was the label’s creative director and produced a wide range of sexy, opulent clothing. The item by Ratajkowski, which was originally styled similarly, is from the spring/summer 2004 collection. In place of a polo-beck, the model at the time sported a long-sleeved shirt that just just revealed her midriff. In Ratajkowski’s interpretation, the retro style is worn just as it should be in 2022. Although more streamlined and polished, it is fundamentally still Ratajkowski.
Ratajkowski previously brought her Dior saddle bag to COS’s fall/winter 2022 runway show last week during New York Fashion Week. She matched the favored minimalist brand’s leather trench coat with the It Girl purse at the time. The outerwear, which was created in a rich shade of slate blue, included elegant accents, such as dramatic lapels and a belted waist. She added slouchy black leather boots to complete the look.
