Emily Ratajkowski Echoes Carrie Bradshaw’s Iconic Newspaper Dress

We adore gaining fashion inspiration from television and film series featuring fictitious fashion superstars like Cher Horowitz, Betty Cooper, Brooke Davis, Marissa Cooper, Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, and Emily (in Paris). Not to be left out is Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, who unquestionably has the most famous fashion moments to her credit, most notably the John Galliano-designed Dior F/W 2000 newspaper-print dress.

The same aesthetic is currently being depicted by Emily Ratajkowski in a very 2023 style. The outfit in question is Miaou’s street sign swathed Karina dress, halternecked, bare-backed and stamped with “Signal Ahead” prints.

She matched the outfit with pointed, knee-high caramel-colored leather boots from Dior. She complemented her accessories with a Miu Miu black leather shoulder bag, DMY by DMY squared black sunglasses, and Jordan Road gold hoops.

This isn’t the first time that EmRata has paid homage to Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic outfit. At last year’s New York fashion week, Emily wore vintage John Galliano dress – same designer, even though Carrie Bradshaw’s came from a Christian Dior collection from 2000 rather than the Galliano name-brand range. Ratajkowski accessorized her black-and-white minidress, which had a plunging V-neckline, with a black velvet coat, zebra-print knee-high boots, and a shiny black bag. Her flawless look was just as effortlessly chic as her outfit: her hair was down in loose waves, and she wore rosy blush with a glossy pink lip.
