Dakota Johnson just raised the bar by donning a denim-on-denim-on-denim ensemble while attending the opening night of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
In lieu of a dress or even a pantsuit, Johnson appeared for the formal event on Thursday sporting a triple denim ensemble that proved wearing jeans on the red carpet was totally OK. The indigo blue outfit by A-list go-to Magda Butrym comprised a navel-baring corset top, high-waisted tapered trousers and a structured double-breasted coat. To accesorize, Johnson wore a Jessica McCormack diamond chain necklace and a black pair of pumps.
She wore her dark hair down in brushed-out waves with her signature eyebrow-grazing fringe, and paired a soft pink lip with rosy cheeks and dewy skin.
At the ceremony, Dakota presented the Sundance Institute International Icon Award to director Luca Guadagnino, with whom she collaborated on the movies Suspiria and A Bigger Splash. During her introduction, the actress made a joke about Armie Hammer’s alleged cannibalism that received mixed reactions from the audience.
Dakota joked that she wasn’t chosen for Guadagnino’s 2017 Oscar-winning movie Call Me By Your Name. , Dakota said, “Luca had asked me to play the role of the peach, but our schedules conflicted. Thank God, because then I would have been another woman that Armie Hammer tried to eat.”
