In her first performance in front of a crowd in five years, Adele made an emotional comeback to the stage.
The music icon performed to an audience of 65,000 fans in London’s Hyde Park over the course of two nights this past weekend at the American Express Presents BST Hyde Park event. Page Six said that throughout the two-hour performance, the actress was overcome with emotion and had to hold back tears as she spoke to the crowd and declared during her first song, “My God, I’m back at home.”
Adele, who is always gorgeous, was bound to go all out for her return to the stage. Adele opted for a stylish Schiaparelli ensemble for the opening night, wearing a floor-length velvet gown with long sleeves and a halter neckline. She added gold jewelry as accessories, including a slender belt and bold earrings (one of her signatures, after all). Adele changed for night two into a black, off-the-shoulder Louis Vuitton dress with sequin-embroidered ruffles that shimmered in the lighting.
Adele has a predilection for vintage Old Hollywood shapes, and both of her eye-catching outfits complemented her enduring personal style. A perfect example is the couture Armani gown she wore to the 2018 Brit Awards, replete with a tulle train. Adele’s timeless outfit also demonstrated that the wait is always worthwhile despite the fact that she hasn’t performed live in five years.
The “Someone Like You” singer sang both her greatest hits and a number of brand-new songs from her album 30, according to The Guardian. Between songs, she engaged the audience in conversation on things like “Billie Eilish, Stranger Things, sciatica, and forgetting lyrics.”
The celebrity allegedly apparently stopped the performance numerous times to signal security to concertgoers in need of aid owing to the extreme heat.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer did play in front of star-studded crowds for two broadcast events around the release of 30, but the weekends’ gigs mark the first time she performs a public concert following a protracted break. She donned a comparable, sculptural Schiaparelli gown along with enormous Saturn earrings and another gorgeous updo for her Adele: One Night Only special.
