2023 was the year of rosettes! (Though it’s never out of style.) From Copenhagen Fashion Week, which saw flowers bloom in the front row, to designers like Magda Butrym and Sandy Liang, who used rosettes as their dominant floral motif in their SS24 collections, then there’s Rihanna, who attended the 2023 MET Gala in a custom Valentino Haute Couture silk faille dress featuring a cape covered in 3D camellia rosette appliqués, and Margot Robbie, whose blush-pink satin Vivienne Westwood Couture dress for a Barbie red carpet featured a crystal rosette at the waist.
Selena Gomez however is the latest to join the rosette themed badwagon. The actress wore a modern twist on a classic black floor-length hourglass gown at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala. The Italian fashion house adorned the entire halter neckline with large silver sequin rosettes. Gomez paired the gown with matching black opera gloves, a diamond bracelet, a large diamond cluster ring, and diamond drop earrings. She wore her hair in a sleek bun and applied bronzy makeup, which included a peachy lip.
Still on trend, back in October, Selena opted for a blinged out silver Valentino gown completely covered in sequins and clear crystals with a large rosette at the center.
