The 2023 MET Gala is upon us! The annual Met Gala will honor Karl Lagerfeld’s illustrious career on Monday, and the dress code is “in honor of Karl.” And while we can’t wait to see all delicious goodness the red-carpet has to offer, Kim Kardashian is already giving us a preview of what she has installed for the 2023 MET Gala.
For her latest red-carpet look , Kim wore an ivory satin John Galliano slip dress with jeweled straps and a flawlessly nipped waist at the Time 100 gala. Accessorizing with layers of crystal necklaces, featurig pieces from Bulgari, Messika, and XIV Karats – it was her geometric Chanel bag that stood out for us. The rare vintage bag is from Chanel’s spring/summer 2012 collection – it features a conch-shaped silhouette, which can be found on luxury resale sites.
Kim Kardashian has never been one to shy away to dive into fashion archives for a stunning MET Gala red carpet look. In 2019, for the “Notes on ‘Camp’” theme, Kardashian wore a custom Thierry Mugler look made of silk organza and designed to appear wet with dripping crystals and in 2022 , for the American fashion theme – the SKIMS founder dressed into a Jean Louis gown that Marilyn Monroe famously wore in 1962 when she sang “Happy Birthday” to JFK, who was the president at the time.
Fingers crossed, her 2023 MET Gala look will be as iconic as the rest – she posted photos to Instagram from Karl Lagerfeld’s Paris office while studying original designs and cuddling Karl’s cat Choupette on a bed – She captioned the post “getting a little inspiration for the Met.”
