Leave it to Julia Roberts to reinvent the power suit—again. The Oscar-winning actress arrived at the London Film Festival to promote After the Hunt, and she did so with her now-signature twist: a necktie adorned in vintage brooches. What started as a playful styling trick has officially become a full-fledged Julia Roberts fashion moment.

Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, Roberts stepped out in a chic Simone Rocha suit featuring a black blazer with pearl-detailed buttons and matching high-waisted shorts—a nod to her early ‘90s tailoring era. The ensemble struck the perfect balance between classic and daring. But it was the tie—a black silk number from Zars London, lavishly decorated with ruby-toned gemstones, pearls, and crystals—that truly stole the spotlight.

It’s the third time Roberts has reimagined a tie this way. Earlier this fall, she made waves at the New York Film Festival with a Vivienne Westwood suit and a pastel blue tie covered in whimsical vintage brooches—tiny turtles, crystal flowers, and seashells included. She followed that with a navy look on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, punctuated by a Moschino silverware set and, of course, another frog.

In London, Roberts completed her look with polished Manolo Blahnik cap-toe shoes, a burgundy Versace tote, and oversized cat-eye sunglasses from Krewe—a look that radiated equal parts movie-star charm and downtown wit.

Her latest film, After the Hunt, directed by Luca Guadagnino, sees Roberts as a professor reckoning with her past amid scandal—a fittingly layered role for an actress whose red carpet evolution continues to balance intelligence, humor, and timeless allure.
