Katie Holmes opted for a slouchy summer dress as temperatures reached its peak in New York City, embracing the season of running errands in slip dresses.
Often “running errands” in Mary-Janes, Holmes effortlessly incorporated a style cue from the mid-Noughties with a slouchy black slip dress layered over a red and pink tank. Holmes’ look exuded, much like the original slip dress (which was crafted for intimate undergarments), a sense of coolness that has become an effortless way to show off due to the inherent simplicity of the silhoutte.
Holmes completed her lazy-chic ensemble with small gold earrings, delicate gold necklaces, and elongated oval tortoiseshell sunglasses. Furthermore, as with every errands she was equipped with a sizable black leather tote as she should.
True to form, in March, Holmes had worn another red carpet ready slouchy dress. Attending the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2024 gala in New York City, she wore a timeless black dress, a glamorous column dress from Brandon Maxwell’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection, paired with silky black peep-toe heels. The dress was adorned with a large white rosette in the front, a staple of the season.
Holmes kept accessories minimal with Ara Vartanian’s elongated gold and diamond hoop earrings, a diamond and gold bracelet, and multiple gold rings.
