The 2023 MET Gala paid homage to the life and legacy of the late Chanel creative director – Karl Lagerfeld. And one of the various ways of staying true to the theme of the night was sticking to the monochromatic black-and-white palettes that was so dear to the late designer.
For Florence Pugh, the actress showed up in a stunning Valentino that featured a very long train. Accompanying Valentino creative director Pier Paolo Piccioli, she wore a stunning white ball gown with a plunging neckline, backless design, and a little black tulle bow as the finishing touch to her look.
She elevated the look further with a towering headpiece topped with black feathers. Accessories included statement diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
Pugh is set to debut as Princess Irulan in the movie Dune — hence, the shaved haircut. In an interview, Pugh said “I thought, what is a better way than to release it at The Met with Pier Paolo” [Piccioli] – Valentino’s creative director. “I’ve been keeping it under wraps for about three weeks now”.
