Catherine Zeta-Jones Revives a Jessica Simpson Dress from 2005

Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is in Portofino with her husband, Michael Douglas, in Italy, revived a vintage Emanuel Ungaro dress while departing her yacht for a stroll in the harbor. Jessica Simpson previously wore the dress to the VH1 Big in ’05 Awards.

Zeta paired the sweeping purple-print maxi dress with matching amethyst earrings and a quilted clutch. Michael Douglas, meanwhile, kept things cool in a dark blue button-up shirt and white trousers. 

According to Us Magazine, the dress was deemed a “revenge dress” when worn by Simpson one month after her divorce from Nick Lachey in 2006. That time, Simpson paired a gown with sandals, earrings, and smokey-eye makeup.
