With the premiere of the forthcoming HBO’s The Idol at Cannes, Jennie Kim made a her debut in a timeless bridal gown that oozed old Hollywood glamour.
The dress? A Chanel number from their spring/summer 2020 couture show, which was the first one after Karl Lagerfeld’s passing that Viard oversaw as creative director. The white lace midi-dress had a corset-style bodice, a billowing bottom half, and a tulle hem. She accessorized with a bow headband and heels. Kim has always been a Chanel girl; she became an ambassador in 2017 and debuted at the Met Gala in a vintage 1990s gown.
Jennie was joined by Troye Sivan, Abel Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp (who wore a Chanel minidress) on the red carpet for the premiere of their long-awaited show. There were suspicions that Jennie would use the red carpet as a platform to announce her supposed relationship with BTS member V, also known by his stage name Kim Taehyung, but Jennie chose to celebrate her big day alone.
