Zendaya blossoms in Loewe Ahead of their SS23 Collection

When a celebrity gets a look from the runway for an occasion, it is usually remarkable. Less than a week after the spring 2022 collection debuted on the runway, Lady Gaga wore a dress from it to one of the House of Gucci premieres last year. Zendaya has a history of grabbing pieces right away when they make their debut, but this weekend, she took “access” to a whole new level by flashing a dress from a line that won’t be unveiled for over two weeks.

Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach posted a video of the actress taking part in what appears to be a bathroom picture shoot on Saturday. The 26-year-old can be seen wearing a white silk gown with one tiny strap on her left shoulder and a slit up the side. The enormous lily petal affixed to the bodice, which transforms Zendaya into a blossoming flower, is the focal point of the ensemble. Roach captioned the video, which shows Zendaya posing in the shower with wet, slicked-back hair, “Plucked from a beautiful garden…a Lily named @zendaya wearing custom @loewe.”

A snapshot from the session was shared on Instagram by Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of Loewe, who referred to the outfit as “a little preview of Loewe SS2023.” On September 30, at Paris Fashion Week, Anderson will exhibit his most recent collection for the Spanish brand, and who better to heighten curiosity for the show than Zendaya?

Anderson recently unveiled the spring/summer 2023 collection for his own brand in London, showcasing the distinct, eccentric style for which he has become renowned. There were some natural elements woven throughout the collection, like prints of dolphins and palm palms on jumpsuits and beautiful sunsets on bags and shoes. With Loewe, he has also been examining this theme. The Spanish bio-designer Paula Ulargui Escalona contributed elements to the spring 2023 menswear collection. According to the firm, different kinds of grasses and plants were used to cover shoes, jackets, and other items so that “with time, the pieces merge with nature.” These plants and grasses were cultivated “in a specially created polytunnel on the outskirts of Paris.” It appears from Zendaya’s teaser that Anderson’s future collection may explore related
