Under the leadership of Sabato De Sarno, Gucci has entered into a new era. Displaying a softer side in his debut Cruise show for the brand at London’s Tate Modern art gallery, the runway was designed as a British garden with lush greenery, evoking a regal and fairy-tale atmosphere.

Models walked down a Herzog & de Meuron-designed concrete staircase and strutted through the runway in front of front-row guests such as Dua Lipa, Solange, Kate and Lila Moss, Arca, and Little Simz. In terms of style, the show showcased a mix of SS24 and AW24 styles, featuring Demi Moore in a semi-sheer slip dress, Kate Moss in a black lingerie ensemble, Lila Moss in a buttery yellow tailored shorts suit, Salma Hayek in a curvy black satin dress, and Dua Lipa in a black logo-embossed leather jacket.

The overall collection was a fusion of classic silhouettes with modern trends, including shorts, minis, mod-inspired jackets, and flowing gowns. The chamomile floral motif or check pattern stood out as a prominent design element, adorning a wide range of items through intricate embroideries, delicate prints, meticulous appliqués, and expertly crafted wovens. Accessories were dominated by giant shoulder bags, 1970s Blondie bags, and oversized shoppers. De Sarno’s previous collections featured sky-high flatforms, but this time leaned towards flat shoes, with options ranging from edgy creepers to delicate ballerinas.
