Anne Hathaway, who attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote her new historical drama Armageddon Time, talked about her magnificent red carpet ensemble, which included a two-piece sequin Armani Privé gown with voluminous sleeves attached to a train, Bulgari gems, and Santoni shoes.
Colorful gowns have dominated the opening days of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival (see Viola Davis‘s joyful yellow Alexander McQueen gown for details), but Anne Hathaway has reminded us that the white gown is a classic for a reason.
Some of the most famous gowns in the history of the film festival have been designed by Armani Privé. In contrast to some of the grandiose princess forms we’ve seen at the Palais des Festivals, the Anne’s form-fitting sequined column gown, with a spliced empire line and trailing train, was exquisitely modest. As is customary in Cannes, Hathaway wore stunning jewelry. Her stunning “Mediterranean Reverie” necklace, which features a stunning cushion-cut sapphire pendant, is part of the company’s premium jewelry collection.
Anne has certainly packed some unique clothing for her trip. In the hours leading up to her red carpet appearance, she lapped in the sun on the Riviera in a rainbow ensemble from Schiaparelli’s spring/summer 2022 collection. She, too, had arrived in Nice the day before in a sloppy suit and brand-new sneakers.
In March, Hathaway wore a rainbow costume by Louisiana-born designer Christopher John Rogers to promote her new comedy, WeCrashed, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.A structured bustier top, palazzo trousers, and a matching jacket were used to create the ensemble, which highlighted vibrant green, red, purple, and orange hues. The turquoise La Medusa Mini Bag by Versace completed Hathaway’s ensemble.
