For the return of her New Year’s Eve spectacular, Miley Cyrus selected a full wardrobe of vintage outfits.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer welcomed in the new year by hosting Miley’s New Years Eve Party, her second annual NBC live spectacular. Cyrus and her stylist Bradley Kenneth selected a variety of vintage ensembles that revealed a glitzy side to the singer’s distinctive rock goddess aesthetic for the night of performances, which was co-hosted by Dolly Parton, a giant in the country music world.
One truly noteworthy piece was a goddess-inspired dress from Versace’s spring/summer 2006 line. In addition to a thigh-high slit and a delicate cape that hung down the back from the one-shoulder neckline, the green and orange dress had swathes of colored fabric that looped around the torso. Her wavy blonde hair and gold stiletto heels helped the celebrity complete the cool feel.
Cyrus donned a shimmering minidress from Bob Mackie’s Fall 2002collection, titled “To Broadway With Love,” for a duet performance of her track “Midnight Sky” with FLETCHER. The one-shoulder dress, which was inspired by the musical Sweet Charity, was composed of silk that had been hand-painted with a psychedelic pattern in colors of gold, green, orange, and blue. It also had iridescent beaded fringe at the neckline and hem.
Alongside Sia and Paris Hilton, the former Hannah Montana actress sang the 2006 song “Stars Are Blind” in another Versace ensemble. The slinky-yet-elegant halter gown, which was taken from the high-end brand’s spring/summer 2005 collection, had a plunging neckline and ruched details at the waist.
