At the world premiere of Babylon last night, Margot Robbie made a statement in a stunning black ensemble.
In one of her most daring red carpet appearances to date, the actress wore an asymmetrical hooded minidress by Alaïa with a halter neckline, a provocative midriff cut-out, and a lengthy theatrical train on one side. She accessorized simply with black pointed-toe shoes, stacked silver bangles, and sheer black Calzedonia tights to complete the chic ensemble.
The knitted cashmere draped dress came straight from the Alaïa winter/spring 2023 collection by Pieter Mulier. Robbie wore natural makeup on, including a dark nude lip, and a very low ponytail with hair gently framing her face.
Robbie’s sultry outfit is a startling shift from her regular look after years of donning exquisite Chanel couture. Kate Young, who has previously worked with the actress as well as Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, and Emily Ratajkowski, pulled together the ensemble.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles hosted the movie premiere. Babylon follows the ascent and ascent of a number of characters as Hollywood transitioned from silent to sound movies in the late 1920s. The ensemble also features Brad Pitt, Olivia Wilde, Tobey Maguire, and Diego Calva in addition to Robbie.
