The Top 10 Collections of Lagos Fashion Week 2019

LEURR’S Top 10 Collections of Lagos Fashion Week 2019

Fashion in Africa in recent years has been on a steady rise – gaining global press and an international clientele it truly deserves a after being ignored and copied for decades. Designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme des Garcons and many others have been heavily influenced by the rich culture evident among Africans.

Fashion statements embellished in colors as bold as the continent’s sunsets and prints that tell an African story have strutted down runways both at home and around the world from New York to London to Tokyo.

In Nigeria, fashion platforms like the Lagos Fashion Week held annually have driven the Nigerian and ultimately, “the African fashion industry” by bringing together buyers, consumers and the media to view the current collections of designers through its four (4) day event in the “fashion capital” of Nigeria, Lagos. While gradually repositioning the position of Nigerian fashion, Fashion designers express their diversity and talent in a safe space of creative autonomy.

The 2019 Lagos fashion week was no different and we’ve compiled our personal favourites – LEURR’S top 10 collection from the leading fashion event.
