Jermaine Bleu, a fast rising Ghanaian fashion brand, led by Jermaine Asiedu releases its Spring/Summer 2021 collection tagged Nkabon. The brand itself presents an array of edgy yet modern looks – individual pieces feature high slits, unique patterns, bold colours, pleats on flared pants and more.
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”95″ display=”basic_slideshow”]Nkabon is translated “Bringing together” in Twi language (Twi, also known as Akan kasa, or Akan-speak, is a dialect of the Akan language spoken in southern and central Ghana) a message Jermaine hopes to spread through the brands collection. In an effort to echo the spirit of togetherness the line up also comes in custom hand-made batik prints which represent Akan’s traditional symbol for unity and togetherness.
The symbol represents power, togetherness, plenty, abundance, unity, and affluence.
Nkabon collection consist of streamlined designs that express who the brands muse is at their core: effortless, elegant, chic and sexy. The brand opted for clean, minimal pieces with their signature crepe and silk fabrics to reveal sensual details that make a bold statement. Jewelries used were designed in collaboration with Walle D – an African Artist exploring the connection between tech and art, who currently is exploring 3D printed Jewelry.
