Old Hollywood elegance has a number of recurring characteristics, including tightened waistlines, floor-length silk dresses and capes, and a profusion of crystal and feather accents. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that celebrities continue to emulate the styles popularized by icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. However, Florence Pugh gave the vintage look a ’90s twist this week.
The Don’t Worry Darling actress arrived at the 2022 British Independent Film Awards in London wearing a light baby pink satin slipdress by Rodarte and a stunning tulle cloak. A huge rose adornment was placed at the front of the silk dress, which also included lace trimming and a high leg slit.
The outfit was taken right from the brand’s fall 2022 runway. Florence accessorised with jewellery from Tiffany & Co. and a pair of strappy Aquazzura heels.
The actress was styled by stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray for the opulent event hosted at Old Billingsgate, and she posted a candid video of her getting ready before the red carpet. Murray captioned the Instagram photo, “Boudoir Baby.” Pugh’s outfit incorporated elements of both the contemporary balletcore trend popularized by stars like Hailey Bieber and Sydney Sweeney as well as the boudoir fashion of the Roaring ’20s.
Pugh has been showcasing some stunning outfits lately. The actress appeared in an opulent Valentino ensemble at Paris Fashion Week. The mesh outfit featured a similar maxi skirt with a sparkling sequined pattern and a cropped top with a fully transparent neckline. She added metallic bronze strappy heels and a white version of the Valentino Garavani One Stud Leather Shoulder Bag to complete the ensemble.
