Numerous things define New York City, like its status as a center of fashion, a melting pot of cultures, and the birthplace of the cronut, but spick and span cleanliness is not one of them. One of the draws is that: It’s a little rough around the edges because of how quickly it moves. All of which is to say that Kylie Jenner’s most recent dress is a daring one given the dirty streets of New York: The celebrity was seen strolling through the city while donning some floor-grazing puddle trousers.
Jenner presumably didn’t walk much around the city because she has a private car service and a security squad of her own. She nevertheless dared to accessorize her baggy floor-length jeans in Manhattan with a cropped button-up blouse, an enormous coat, and wrap-around sunglasses.
Are her pants appropriate for sprinting around New York? Maybe not. The puddle pant silhouette has been embraced by brands like Balenciaga, Peter Do, and R13, and as a result, big, baggy denim is trendy this season. Just be sure you wear them from car to door, like Kylie Jenner, if you plan to don them this fall.
