At the Cannes Film Festival, Elle Fanning is known for showcasing intriguing apparel, from classical looks to Riviera-ready styles. Her Vivienne Westwood dress from 2017 was one of the festival’s most notable attire, and her Dior couture look from two years later was just as stunning. This year, with a diverse and stunning selection of outfits for the first few days (thanks to celeb stylist Samantha McMillen), she exceeds herself.
Elle Fanning arrived at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport wearing a wide-leg trousers, a ribbed T-shirt and flip-flops from The Row. At the opening ceremony, Elle wore a custom Alexander McQueen creation decorated with hand-embroidered bugle beads and crystals, which she described as a “work of art”.
Next was the Bottega Veneta LBD, an ethereal lace dress by Rodarte, a cornflower-blue slip from Khaite, luxe flip-flops from The Row, a stripy shirt, wide-leg trousers, and Bottega Veneta’s cult Sardine bag in the famed Hôtel Martinez lobby. She also styled a diaphanous dress over jeans, adding buckled shoes and a chainmail bag. This shows that she can do off-duty cool just as well as princess gowns.
Putting a futuristic take on French Riviera style with a dramatic statement dress from Paco Rabanne’s fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear runway, The Great actress debuted yet another opulent ensemble at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday night.
The dress featured silver, feather-shaped fringe, a circular choker with a metallic floral adornment, matching metallic floral pasties, strappy silver stilettos, and a chainmail handbag. Fanning’s glam was minimal, with shimmery eye shadow, dusty pink blush, and a rose-colored lip. Her long platinum blonde hair was styled straight and worn down across her shoulders.
