Dolce & Gabbana and Skims are collaborating on a new collection, combining the Italian fashion house’s signature ‘dolce vita’ with the shapewear brand’s sculpting silhouettes.
This Dolce & Gabbana tie-up “has been a long time in the making,” Jens Grede (Skims co-founder) said at the BOF Voices 2024 . The collection flirts with femininity, silky fabrics, and corsetry, resembling both brands’ identities. Not unexpected, Dolce & Gabbana has a close connection with the Kardashian family. If you recall, Kim oversaw the luxury brand’s 2023 spring/summer line and appeared at the collection’s show during Milan Fashion Week in the fall of 2022. Additionally, Dolce & Gabbana hosted Kourtney’s wedding earlier in 2022.
“We’ve taken classic Dolce & Gabbana silhouettes and leopard prints and reimagined them with the incredible fit and comfort that Skims is known for,” says Kim Kardashian in a press release for the collection. “This is a truly iconic partnership that I’m so excited to share with the world.”
Set in a 60s backdrop, created by Nadia Lee Cohen, an artist and photographer, the campaign features Kim and Kourtney Kardashian in skin-tight leopard print silhouettes, inspired by vintage cinema, as seen in previous campaigns like the Lana Del Rey Valentine’s Day capsule and holiday campaign.
