Phoebe Philo’s comeback to the fashion business has been eagerly anticipated since she has been planning her own line since at least 2021. In February 2023, her serif logo-adorned Instagram account generated mini-hysteria among fashion insiders, signaling her comeback to the business.
Philo’s work at Chloé and Céline influenced women’s fashion in the early 2000s. She stepped down in 2017 and went off the radar until 2021 when she announced she would launch a brand under her own name. Philo’s chic aesthetic continues to resonate with today’s cult following.
According to WWD, the inaugural collection will have 150 designs and will be available in the UK, US, and Europe with Daria Werbowy as the brand’s face. Philo stated her ambitions to launch her own independent fashion brand in June 2021, providing garments and accessories of excellent quality and design. LVMH holds a minority stake in the brand.
“I have had a very constructive and creative working relationship with LVMH for many years,”says Philo. Adding, “so it is a natural progression for us to reconnect on this new project. I have greatly appreciated discussing new ideas with Bernard Arnault and Delphine Arnault and I am delighted to be embarking on this adventure with their support.”
