With the straightforward Instagram caption “She’s back,” Rihanna today confirmed the revival of her Fenty X Puma collaboration
Since she originally joined Puma as creative director in 2014, Rihanna has had a close working relationship with the brand. She has since launched a line of sneakers that have sold out and put on a number of shows at New York Fashion Week that have been well received by both critics and shoppers. 2017 saw the launching of her most recent line for Puma after an undisclosed break while Rihanna worked on other endeavors.
Rihanna was the brand’s face and its most effective ambassador, even though the celebrity engaged a select group of friends to model for it over the years, including Cara Delevingne, Slick Woods, and Travis Scott. It remains to be known if she will continue to be the focal point of the Fenty X Puma universe when it returns.
While working with Puma, Rihanna created a few distinct fashion statement which included chunky-soled shoes, vividly colored bodysuits, oversized graphic hoodies, and thigh-high boots, which gave the athleisure basics popular in the early 2010s a more playful spin.
The news comes at a time when Rihanna has already had a busy year. With her eagerly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance in February, the singer made a spectacular comeback to the stage. She sang a combination of her best-known songs in her first solo performance in seven years while donning a striking red boiler suit and breastplate by Jonathan Anderson for Loewe and a floor-length Alaa puffer coat that many saw as a tribute to the late André Leon Talley.
