Bella Hadid has successfully pulled off one of the most disputed footwear combos out there, which includes tights with open-toe heels and socks with sandals. The model appeared in public while visiting Paris wearing flared denim trousers and a square-toe stiletto. The style is firmly rooted in the 2000s; it was a mainstay of the time’s rom-coms, music videos, and more laid-back red carpets.
Under a three-piece outfit made up of a pale pink coat, a little vest, and a skirt, Hadid donned the heel and denim combo. As divisive as square-toe heels and flared jeans, skirts over pants were a major trend on the spring/summer 2023 catwalks. Maybe that’s what gave the supermodel her style.
It has historically been difficult to pull off wearing a formal shoe with something as casual as denim, but screen sirens of the ’00s like Kiera Knightley and Cameron Diaz managed to do so. Not to be forgotten is Janet Jackson, who popularized the style.
