The 1980s have surpassed the late 1990s and early 2000s in fashion trends, including jelly sandals. The footwear exudes nostalgia and fun, often featuring glitter. Originally created by Tony Alano and Nicolas Guillon in Paris in 1980. The sandals gained popularity in the 90s and ’00s, with brands like Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier also selling them. Fast forward to 2023, there are different iterations of the design such as Simone Rocha’s Faux Pearl and Crystal Jelly Sandals, Melissa X Y/Project 3-D floral jelly heels or Telfar’s logo jelly slides.
