This year, luxury houses have been re-establishing their brand DNA by approaching their collections as a body of artwork, particularly in the world of couture. Several brands, like Loewe, Schiaparelli, and J.W. Anderson, have been adept in fostering a more avant-garde approach to fashion.
In the world of footwear there are a few example of this surrealist trend. For one, the MSCHF’s red “astro boy” boots which incase you haven’t noticed are the latest shoe obsession with resale site StockX selling for $1000 or more. Then there are the, viral JW Anderson frog slippers, Loewe’s court heels with deflated balloons, and more.
For Salma Hayek, the actor’s recent photos show her flexing in a pair of the season’s most notable pairs of shoes. The 56 year old who, I should add, has access to a variety of designers items (one of the many perks of being married to François-Henri Pinaut, the chairman and CEO of Kering),wore a Alexander McQueen Arc sock boots that feature a surrealist sculptural silver-finished heel.
Captioning the post “Me waiting for Spring, thank God it’s here” Hayek paired the fashion forward sculptural shoes with a silk PJ co-ord from Borgo de Nor and a pearl necklace. Makeup was kept minimal
