Big bags are back thanks to Cardi B, who recently sported a large metallic Chanel handbag that occupied a third of her height while walking through Disneyland Paris.

In addition to the $10,000 travel bag, Cardi was dressed in a flowy floral halter Dolce & Gabbana dress with an empire waist and pleats. She paired the maxi with black Tabi ballet flats and silver chains around her neck. Cardi’s beauty features bangs, long, straight locks with purple hints, pearly square nails, and a nude lip.
Purses, until the late 18th century, were unisex, small accessories primarily used for money storage, with similarities to wallets rather than handbags. In the late 2010s, designers resisted producing handbags larger than their palms, with brands like Simon Jacquemus selling smaller versions and Lizzo accessorizing her peach-colored Valentino ruffle dress with a not-so-pratical tiny bag. Later on, a scathing critique of a handbag delivered by Matthew Macfadyen’s character, Tom, in the series The ‘Succession’ prompted fashion to shift towards oversized alternatives.
