Despite the fact that Rihanna has made a comeback, a new album is not imminently scheduled for release.
The singer stated in an interview with The Associated Press that she needs to “go to work” on her ninth album but for the time being, she is concentrating on getting ready for her appearance at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing. Do you hear that, fans?” she said.
The performance will “celebrate the music that I’ve made,” she added in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. The halftime show, she continued, is “an entertainer’s dream” and she “can’t believe” she agreed to the obligation.
Prior to the performance in February 2023, she spoke to Reuters about how she was feeling. “It’s a challenge that I was willing to accept, and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a lot of hard work, the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my entire career.”
After a six-year musical break, Rihanna will make her stage debut during the halftime show. Her most recent album, Anti, was released in 2016.
The music singer released “Lift Me Up,” a song from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever album, as her first single only last month. Along with the song, she also debuted a stunning music video that showed her strolling along the beach at dusk while wearing a silky ivory corset dress. The track serves as a musical ode to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the superhero in the first Black Panther blockbuster movie.
